Church History

Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church (CTAC) was founded in 1951 by District Elder Raymond J. Coleman and his wife, Evangelist Olive Coleman. Together, they traveled each week from Boston to Worcester, knocking on doors and winning souls for Christ. The church’s first home was at 188 Beacon Street, and by God’s grace CTAC has worshiped in four locations—188 Beacon Street, 242 Pleasant Street, 23 Oxford Street, and now 1189 Main Street in Worcester. What began as a door-to-door gospel work has grown into a faithful, enduring congregation. Pastor Robin Brooks now serves as pastor, continuing the legacy begun by Elder Coleman.

At the tender age of 10, Pastor Brooks accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was filled with the Holy Ghost at Gethsemane Church of Jesus Christ in Springfield, MA. Pastor Brooks recognized the call on her life in her early teen years but earnestly admits that she “didn’t understand it.” Some years later, she recognized, understood, and accepted the call of God on her life. Pastor Brooks is an anointed and dynamic preacher, teacher, and evangelist. She is passionate about teaching, singing, worshipping, and leading people to deliverance. In addition, Pastor Brooks is a gifted teacher who believes that the body of Christ must be grounded in the Word of God. Pastor Brooks founded Eureka Bible Institute in 2017 with students in Florida and Massachusetts to carry out this mission. To solidify her own commitment to education, Pastor Brooks attended Zion Bible Institute and received a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies with a concentration in Pastoral Ministry, a B.A. in Biblical Exposition, an M.A in Theology and Apologetics, and is currently completing a Ph.D. in Applied Apologetics. Pastor Brooks serves as the Senior Pastor and is a fierce advocate for the deliverance of those who are bound. A lover of her fellow man, she can be found teaching and preaching whenever the opportunity presents itself. Pastor Brooks identifies Luke 4:18-19 as one of her favorite verses where Jesus announces, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor, he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
